The basket line started as a sample. A buyer in Berlin asked us if we could make storage baskets that nested for shipping. We could. We have shipped over thirty thousand sets since.
Everything in this collection is hand-woven by the weavers of Phú Vinh village — fourteen women, paid by the basket, against an agreed minimum that does not move when raw-material prices do.
The seagrass is FSC-certified from cooperatives in Đắk Lắk. The leather handles are tanned in Hà Nội. The cotton linings are dyed in Hội An. Every component has a name on it.
